About the Instructor:
Rachel Clark graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in dance and a minor in music, where she received the Minnette L. Starts Award for Excellence in Dance and the Jill Karp Award for Outstanding Dance student. She was a member of the Newcomb Dance Company, Project Motion Dance Ensemble, and she toured nationally and internationally with Lightwire Theater’s Ugly Ducklingand Dino-Light. Clark has choreographed several pieces, including her honors thesis, Falling to Recover, and Les Sapphides, a full-length ballet which premiered at the New Orleans Fringe Festival in 2013. Locally, Clark has performed for Dancing with the Chattanooga Stars, Dancing with the Stars of Dalton, Dare to Dance, and Big Band Fever. Clark has choreographed for WEAVE, Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts, Barking Legs Theater, Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Message in Motion, the Hamilton Academy of Dance, Ensemble Theatre, and Dance Tonight. She has taught dance at the Mountain Arts Community Center, Hamilton Academy of Dance, Chattanooga Theater Center, Saint Peter’s, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Montessori, E-Kids Learning Center, and Dance Tonight. Clark has also taught masters classes at Baylor and the Chattanooga Center for Creative Arts.
